PayPal in South Africa

To our friends in South Africa who would like to try PayPal or sign up a PayPal account, I think you should need to know that for now, the only local bank that you can use to add funds to and withdraw money from in your PayPal account is First National Bank. The First National Bank of South Africa (FNB) provides a “top up” service that allows you to add money from your qualified FNB bank account to your PayPal account.

But before adding your bank account to PayPal, you first need to go to your First National Bank website. All the instructions are there and its pretty easy to follow too. If you get confused along the way, there is help available!

If there is still some confusion in your mind about PayPal or anything about PayPal, I can help you, dont hesitate to ask! :)

I have found a PTC Site that pays you in Sterling Pounds! Not just Dollars!

I was actually browsing through the internet looking for a decent PTC site to try and to see if PTC's work. I have found several, Neobux, which happens to be the leading PTC now, there's Onbux, there's buxly, and the list goes on and on. Until I stumle upon SterlingBux that pays you in Sterling Pounds on every click or view of their advertisements. So I gave it a try. Their pay out is 2.00 Sterling Pounds. You can withdraw it to your PayPal or Alertpay account. You should try too and see for yourself!

Filipino PayPal Account Holders- Don't have a credit card to verify your PayPal account? Worry No More!

I know most Filipinos still dont have a credit card. For one, having a credit card means that you need to have a stable job and earning above the average. Well you need not worry no more because you can still get a  credit card that you can use like a debit and credit card on your PayPal account.

Go to the nearest Unionbank branch and open an EON debit card. They will have you fill out a form. It would be best if you already have a 2X2 picture with you and probaby 2 valid ID's, and oh, you need to prepare around 350php to 400php to process your application. Once you have the card, log in to your PayPal account, click Profile, then click add/edit credit or debit card. Then fill out your details there. Please also make sure that you have enough funds, atleast 200Php. You will then have to confirm your EON card, you should be able to see this link after adding the debit card successfully. Contrary to what the agents from PayPal will advise you, you don't really have to wait for 3 business days to get this code from PayPal along with the charge of 100Php or $.95 USD. Call up EON or Unionbank customer service immediately to ask for the PayPal code. They know what this is about, so you need not worry. Once you have this 4-digit PayPal code, click on the lik that says confirm my card. You should be able to see this from the Account summary page, or from the debit/ credit card page. If your code is correct, your PayPal account should be verified by then.

You can withdraw your funds to this debit card without any hassle. But i will still stick into withdrawing your funds to your registered bank account becase the withdrawl fee is only Php50.00.

This link will practically give you all the info you need to get an EON debit card so you can start using your PAyPal account to withdraw funds and to shop online.

Bank Codes of Major Banks in the Philippines

If you have tried to add your Philippine bank account in your PayPal account, you will be needing your bank's bank code. If you call your bank's customer service, chances are, they will give you the routing code for your bank. If you pout it the wrong bank account information, your withdrawal will get reversed to your PayPal account, and you will not get your money right away. Not to mention the fees that your PayPal account will incur due to the reversal.

Here is the list of Bank Codes which will come in handy when you want to add your local bank account.

Common Problems with Outside the US Members

These are the most common problems I have noticed from PayPal members outside the United States:

-Problem linking a credit card
-Credit card disabled on the system.
-Inelligible card(s)- those cards that had been added to one or more open PayPal accounts.
-Payments using credit card will not go through no matter how you try
-cannot withdraw because of withdrawal limit. Will only be allowed to withdraw money if you get your account verified.
